FAQ

When should I do my continuing education?

Continuing ed can be done anytime during your license renewal period. From the first valid day of renewal, up until the date of expiration, you can complete some or all of your required credits. But remember, if you expire, you cannot legally work in the trade of plumbing.

What if I only have a few days left before expiration?

Don't worry, but don't hesitate. Call me and I can work out a solution so you do not expire. I can deliver packets same day in most cases. If you are remotely located, I can priority mail yours to you. As soon as it is completed, I can enter your credits immediately for an instant renewal.

How long does it take to complete 24 or 48 hours worth of credits?

Not nearly as long as the credits reflect. This material can be completed as fast as you can work. I've seen people complete a two-state packet as quickly as 4 - 6 hours!

How do I receive completion credits?

You will receive either an email or text message with a screenshot of the hourly credits posted on the actual state website. The date will reflect the date you actually completed the material.

Washington Plumber Trainees

How much does it cost?

You will be required during a two-year period to complete at least 8 hours of plumbing code and at least 4 hours of electrical trade related classes from the currently adopted Washington state plumbing and electrical codes. The remaining 4 hours may be plumbing or electrical trade related classes. You must complete at least 8 hours of continuing education every year to renew your certificate. For example:

  • If you take 8 hours of Code one year, the following year you must take a minimum of 4 hours of IRE, and another 4 hours in Code, IRE, or IRP.

Note: Trainees must have an active certificate to receive credit for their hours of experience. To maintain an active certificate, you need to keep your continuing education current.

How does the "group workshop" work?

Just like the packets except more fun. When you buy multiple packets, you can work on them as a group or in teams for a customized training workshop. The best part is, you can knock out a lot of CE hours in one setting while saving time and money.

So, buy some packets and a few pizzas for your group and get them all certified and credited in one day!
